This is a genuine BMW carburetor (exchange unit), part number 13 11 1 271 253. The number stamped on the part is 13111271253; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1271253. BMW's catalog calls it “Exchange-Carburetor”. It supersedes the older numbers 1266256 and 1269454, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1271370.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 5.2 kg (11 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
