The number stamped on the part is 11231721408; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1721408. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Other Engine parts. It supersedes the older number 1469235, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan and coupe (318i, 1992–1999), with the M40 or M42 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them Belt Drive-Vibration Damper (11_0266) and Belt Drive-Vibration Damper (11_0334). It weighs about 80 g (0.2 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
