This is a genuine BMW glow element, part number 12 23 2 241 387. The number stamped on the part is 12232241387; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2241387. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Generator cooling. It supersedes the older number 2241388, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 2241389.

It fits the E36 sedan (318tds, 325td and 325tds, 1991–1994), with the M41 or M51 engines.

BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Glow Plug Unit/Temp.Sensor/Trigg.Contact (12_0293) and Glow Plug Unit/Temp.Sensor/Trigg.Contact (12_0309). It weighs about 25 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
