Genuine BMW part 12 23 2 241 389: Glow element. The number stamped on the part is 12232241389; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2241389. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Generator cooling. It supersedes the older number 2241387, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, touring and compact (318tds, 325td and 325tds, 1991–1996), with the M41 or M51 engines.

BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Glow Plug Unit/Temp.Sensor/Trigg.Contact (12_0293) and Glow Plug Unit/Temp.Sensor/Trigg.Contact (12_0309). It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
