13 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW hex nut with plate, part number 07 12 9 946 304. The number stamped on the part is 07129946304; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9946304. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 12. It supersedes the older number 0309419, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9904319.
It fits the E36 compact (318ti, 1995–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 8 diagrams, among them Alarm system (65_1010) and Single parts, SA 629, trunk (84_0072). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
