This is a genuine BMW hex nut with ribs, part number 07 14 9 156 956. The number stamped on the part is 07149156956; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9156956. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 14. It supersedes the older number 8265533, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
