Genuine BMW part 23 31 7 543 221: Locking pin. The number stamped on the part is 23317543221; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7543221. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Inner gearshift parts.
It fits every E46 body style (325i and 330i, 2001–2006), with the M54 engine — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them GS6X37BZ inner gear shifting parts (23_0991) and GS6-37BZ/DZ Gearshifting parts (23_1054). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
