This is a genuine BMW nueral/alcan piston, part number 11 25 1 261 917. The number stamped on the part is 11251261917; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1261917. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Piston with rings and pin. It supersedes the older numbers 1252134, 1252135, 1252136 and 1261907, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Piston (11_2354) diagram. It weighs about 660 g (1.5 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
