Piston — a genuine BMW part, number 11 25 1 262 008. The number stamped on the part is 11251262008; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1262008. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Piston with rings and pin. It supersedes the older numbers 1251996, 1252003, 1252004 and 1252005, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1267296.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
