The number stamped on the part is 24117533655; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7533655. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearbox housing, oil sump. It supersedes the older number 1423592, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2006), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them A4S200R oil pan/oil strainer (24_0974) and A5S360R/390R oil pan/oil strainer (24_0996). BMW's catalog calls for 20 of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).
