It supersedes the older number 1096389, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 sedan (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2005), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Engine oil cooler pipe (17_0485) and Trim panel, trunk lid (51_3259). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
