The number stamped on the part is 51168248320; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8248320. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Mirrors, trims, storage compartments. It supersedes the older numbers 0154459 and 0411412, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9123157.
It fits the E46 coupe and compact (323i, 325i, 328i, 330i and M3, 2000–2006), with the M52, M54, M56 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 12 diagrams, among them Carrier, centre console (51_4406) and Centre console/armrest, support, trim pan (51_4408). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
