Genuine BMW part 12 41 7 537 491: Starter. The number stamped on the part is 12417537491; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7537491. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Starter motor with mounting. It supersedes the older number 7515785, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7610347.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 3.9 kg (8.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
