Genuine BMW part 13 63 1 721 456: Throttle valve switch. The number stamped on the part is 13631721456; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1721456. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Electromechanical switching devices. It supersedes the older number 1726591, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Throttle housing Assy (13_0364) and Throttle housing Assy (13_0368). It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb).
