Genuine BMW part 24 40 1 423 781: Torque converter. The number stamped on the part is 24401423781; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1423781. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1421817, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (325i, 1992–1995), with the M50 engine — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Automatic gearbox A4S270/310R (24_0625) and Automatic gearbox A4S270/310R (24_1561). It weighs about 12 kg (26 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
