It supersedes the older number 1253958, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 320i, 325i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M50 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (316i, 316i 1.6, 316i 1.9 and 318i, 1997–2001), with the M43 engine.
