This is a genuine BMW valve collet, part number 11 34 1 461 405. The number stamped on the part is 11341461405; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1461405. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Valves with springs. It supersedes the older number 0150844, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M44, M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 62 diagrams, among them Valve Timing Gear - Cam Shaft (11_1143) and Valve timing gear - camshaft/valves (11_1455). It also comes in BMW kit Repair kit (8300075).
