Genuine BMW part 12 14 1 739 864: Basic control unit DME (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12141739864; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1739864. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1739808, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1429760.

It fits the E36 sedan, convertible and touring (318i, 1992–1999), with the M43 engine.
