This is a genuine BMW basic control unit DME (exchange unit), part number 12 14 1 743 255. The number stamped on the part is 12141743255; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1743255. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1743057, 1743058, 1743059 and 1743248, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
