Basic control unit DME (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 12 14 7 524 074. The number stamped on the part is 12147524074; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7524074. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7519593, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2001–2003), with the N42 engine.

BMW draws it on the Basic control unit DME / EK924 (12_1133) diagram. It weighs about 510 g (1.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
