Genuine BMW part 12 14 7 543 224: Basic control unit DME (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12147543224; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7543224. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7543158, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7548770.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (325i and 330i, 2001–2006), with the M54 or M56 engines.

BMW draws it on the Basic control unit DME (12_1213) diagram.

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
