Basic control unit EGS (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 24 60 1 422 772. The number stamped on the part is 24601422772; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1422772. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit EGS”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1422365, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

It weighs about 330 g (0.7 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
