Genuine BMW part 24 60 1 423 886: Basic control unit EGS (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 24601423886; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1423886. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit EGS”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1423862, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 328i, 1999–2005), with the M52 engine — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Basic Control Unit EGS (24_0834) diagram. It weighs about 355 g (0.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
