Genuine BMW part 33 12 7 621 206: Shaft seal. The number stamped on the part is 33127621206; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7621206. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Rear Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 1214080, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti and 320i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits every E46 body style (316i, 316i 1.6, 316i 1.9, 316ti and 318i, 1997–2004), with the M43, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on 25 diagrams, among them Drive Flange Suspension/Gasket Ring (33_0372) and Drive Flange Suspension/Gasket Ring (33_0461). It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Gasket Set Differential (1214117).
