What's Included

This is a genuine BMW shaft seal, part number 23 12 1 222 677. The number stamped on the part is 23121222677; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1222677. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Bearing in housing, sealing rings. It supersedes the older numbers 1228333 and 1282394, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8677736.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 100 diagrams, among them S5D...Z housing + mounting parts (23_0125) and S5D...G housing + mounting parts (23_0234). It also comes in BMW kits Gasket set (1224925) and Gasket set (7511935) and 2 more.

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
