-- View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW trim panel, part number 51 12 2 253 201. The number stamped on the part is 51122253201; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2253201. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Door, rear. It supersedes the older number 2233800, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Retrofit, M aerodynamic kit (03_0774) and Trailer coupling (03_1068). It weighs about 1.2 kg (2.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
