Genuine BMW part 54 12 8 191 173: Trim panel. The number stamped on the part is 54128191173; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8191173. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older number 2255180, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50, M52 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Slid.Lift. Roof-Cover/Ceiling Frame (54_0187) and Slid.Lift. Roof-Cover/Ceiling Frame (54_0189). It weighs about 191 g (0.4 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
