Genuine BMW part 12 14 7 531 851: Basic control unit DME (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12147531851; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7531851. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Basic control unit DME”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. BMW has since replaced it with 7541462.

It fits the E46 sedan, touring and compact (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2004), with the N46 engine.
