This is a genuine BMW hex nut, part number 07 12 9 904 865. The number stamped on the part is 07129904865; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9904865. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 12. It supersedes the older numbers 9903269 and 9904864, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 75 diagrams, among them Engine Suspension (11_1343) and Engine Suspension / Damper (11_1491). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Set mounting parts (9059461).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
