01 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW plug housing, part number 12 52 1 706 121. The number stamped on the part is 12521706121; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1706121. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0492990 and 1357942, so a part carrying any of them is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1706091.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 320i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43 or M50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 70 diagrams, among them Wiring Connections (12_1975) and Wiring Connections (12_0327). BMW lists the quantity used as “as required”. It weighs about 5 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
