This is a genuine BMW plug housing, part number 12 52 1 732 596. The number stamped on the part is 12521732596; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1732596. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 0493003, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318ti, 320i, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M52 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them Cylinder head Vanos (11_2170) and Cylinder head Vanos (11_6209). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Plug housing (0493003).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
