Control unit DME programmed (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 12 14 1 429 876. The number stamped on the part is 12141429876; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1429876. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1433584, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1430009.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Control unit DME, programmed (12_0843) and Control unit DME, programmed (12_1993).
