Genuine BMW part 12 14 1 430 162: Control unit DME programmed (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12141430162; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1430162. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. BMW has since replaced it with 1430271.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M44 engine.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Control unit DME, programmed (12_0844) and Control unit DME, programmed (12_1993).
