This is a genuine BMW control unit DME programmed (exchange unit), part number 12 14 7 513 600. The number stamped on the part is 12147513600; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7513600. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7501858, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7528736.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe and convertible (323i, 1999–2000), with the M52 engine — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Control unit DME, programmed (12_0897) diagram. It weighs about 1 g (under 0.1 lb).
