Genuine BMW part 12 14 7 542 099: Control unit DME programmed (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12147542099; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7542099. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7526314, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe and compact (316i and 316ti, 2002–2003), with the N40 engine.

BMW draws it on the Repl.control unit DME programmed / EK924 (12_1134) diagram. It weighs about 496 g (1.1 lb).
