Genuine BMW part 12 14 7 553 832: Control unit DME programmed (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 12147553832; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7553832. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7542133, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7557723.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe and compact (316i and 316ti, 2004), with the N45 engine.

BMW draws it on the Repl.control unit DME programmed / EK924 (12_1134) diagram.
