The number stamped on the part is 12312244884; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2244884. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH compact generator”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Alternator with motor and mounting. It supersedes the older number 2244342, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Compact Alternator (12_0402) and Compact Alternator (12_1669). It weighs about 5.5 kg (12 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
